How I Can Help
Business owners face legal issues on a daily basis. Sound policies, early identification of risk, and a trusted legal partner can prevent small issues from becoming costly litigation.
Employment Matters
Drafting of employment related documents, including employment contracts, employee handbooks, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and other “new hire” forms. Advising on legal compliance, including wage, and hour laws, and workers compensation.
Business Ownership Matters
Business consultations and formations, “partnership” related contracts for addition or separation of a “partner”, “business divorces", representation for business purchase and sale transactions, including drafting of related documents, and joint venture agreements.
Commercial Contract Matters
Negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts with vendors, sub-contractors and other third-party business “partners”, as well as drafting of “nasty letters” and representation for all types of commercial disputes including collections demands for unpaid accounts.
It is cheaper, calmer, and smarter to prevent a legal problem than to resolve one.
My Philosophy
A Different Kind of Law Firm
Monticello Law is a boutique Tampa law firm serving small business owners and professional clients in business law and employment law.
Unlike many business law attorneys who do not focus on employment law, and many employment law practices that handle employment matters only, Kim brings both together which gives small business owners a more effective and practical legal resource for the issues that actually show up in the daily operation of a business. Kim’s practice is built for business owners to give them a more practical legal resource for the issues that actually show up in daily operations: contracts, employees, independent contractors, vendors, customers, compliance, disputes, and prevention.
Led by Kimberly Isner Monticello, the firm is built for business owners who want accessible, sophisticated, honest legal guidance from someone who understands both the law and the realities of managing people, solving problems, and running a business.
